Europe Through the Back Door Tour Reports

Are you an ETBD tour survivor? Report on your experience here! Was your time used wisely? How was your guide? What kind of people were your travel partners? If you've taken several ETBD tours, how did they compare? Please share any favorite hotels, meals, sights, and "magic moments" too!

Please note: This board is for feedback on Rick Steves' guided tours only. If you have questions about our tour program, you can contact our Tour Department by email.

I want to add my comments!

BOE in 21 days
I just got back from the Best of Europe 21 days. The experience far exceeded my expectations! Our guide, Jennifer, was an amazing blend of mother hen, foodie, historian, and travel coach. She made sure each of us had our unique interests stimulated and encouraged us to get out there and spread our travel wings.

My magic moments included drinking champagne on the Eiffel Tower under a full moon, eating "mouthbags" in Germany, overlooking the Mediterranean from a cliff-top restaurant during a 3-hour lunch with our crazy bus driver Roni, singing Country Road from a table top with a drunk German during Oktoberfest, and having the statue of David send chills down my spine. If you are ever in Cinque Terre, be sure to have the seafood pot at Belvedere's.

Ireland in 14 Days Tour 2009
I thoroughly enjoyed this Rick Steves Tour of Ireland. It was well organized & we were kept busy through out this trip. I believe ALL of my travel companions were SUPER. I've created a blog site about my experience: http://blitrots-blog.blogspot.com/search/label/Ireland09
