There are endless options of multi-day European tours available. Which ones are the best value and why? Please Note: Excessive postings about the same company will be deleted.

Scams at The Coliseum Rome
I was in Rome for a few months. I was trying to get work since I am a student wandering about till next fall if things work out. In Rome I answered an ad for work in the tourism feild. I found myself down in Anceint Rome being offered work selling tours at the Coliseum. No id was needed, no ref etc, just show up and get cash was all that was needed. After one day I gave up, it seemed like begging, non of us liked our boss and some Italian guides gave us hell. The money wasnt even that good for us. Then I took work selling free tours near the Spanish steps, this was even more trouble. Our boss Stephano who has an offical badge was terrible to us and he fought all the time with us.

I gave up, eventually getting work at the Yellow House youth hostel and then Litus youth hostel in Ostia which was much better. I was treated like a human again.

Students, stay away from work in tourism in Rome. Hope this helps

Tours sold in Public
Tours sold on the street are bad for everyone. These guys dont pay taxes and dont follow any local laws, if something goes wrong you have no recall. Many are US students who dont even have legal paperwork in Europe. Its not even nice to have someone calling you as you walking around The Vatican trying to feel the Spirit and History. Tours should be organised and legit.

Street Tour sales
In Germany, the tours that are selling on the street, do have to pay taxes and they are completely legal. Just because something is ok in Rome or Italy, does not mean that it is like that in every country. The guides we had in Germany were fantastic! Try Insider Tours if you want a good tour in Berlin.
