Bravo! Raves about Rick's Rome Guides

Take a tour from any company, and you can count on your guide to be well-versed in art and history, and to run a tight ship. Rick Steves, however, expects much more from his travel teachers. Good...isn't good enough. Here are a few impressions from our Best of Rome tour alums...

Sarah Murdoch

Sarah was an absolutely fantastic tour guide and a wonderful person to spend 7 days with in a foreign city. Her knowledge of Rome, of the art and architecture, the Italian customs, and her social skills were topnotch. Sara was able to bring together a disparate group of people from a variety of backgrounds in such a way to make those of us who have never gone on a "tour" glad we tried this one. It is due to Sara that I would try another Rick Steves tour.

Jamie Blair Gould

Jamie provided a great balance of facts about history, art, religion and politics to help us better understand what we were seeing in context of past/present. He was passionate when sharing the information — many of us could listen to him for hours.

Kathy Reno

Kathy was wonderful. She's so knowledgeable and such an excellent teacher that she made ancient history really come alive. I felt like I was part of the community of Ostia Antica because of the excellent way she showed us and involved us in daily life in Ancient Rome. She was always friendly, patient and (even though she was working hard) made it seem easy. She was a lot of fun and good company.

Francesca Caruso

Francesca was fabulous. She was very eloquent, and liked to invoke our use of imagination to travel into the past into the world of ancient Rome as it must have been. Her discourse on the sculptures and paintings in the Borghese Gallery was almost like poetry, compelling us into a spiritual realm that left us both inspired and agape, as well as very well educated.

Heidi Sewell

Heidi was great!  She handled 'emergencies' and 'glitches' with outward calm (maybe she wasn't but we didn't pick up any negatives). Her knowledge about the history and art were excellent. She made all the sites come alive for us by helping us picture them more clearly in their original condition.
