Raves About Our Sicily and South Italy Tour Guides

Tour Members Rave On

Our goal as tour organizers: to pack your trip with the best tour guides possible. And there's no better place than Sicily or South Italy to have a great guide connect you with the local culture. Here are just a few of the many tour guide raves coming out of our Sicily and South Italy tours. For the inside scoop on all of our tours, check out our uncensored tour member feedback.

Alfio Di Mauro

I think Alfio Di Mauro being a Sicilian was a huge plus for our group. He knows the food, wine, customs, and was able to communicate his love of his island to us using his infectious sense of humor. His Sicilian gesture lesson is something we will never forget. He had most of us gesturing like Sicilians by the end of the tour. Alfio was always patient and helpful and worked very hard to make everything run smoothly. He always had something special up his sleeve. He had to help our bus driver get through a real mess of traffic by getting out and making suggestions to the authorities. The other thing that makes Alfio a great guide is that he knows all the best places to get gelato, and we sampled them all. Of course, I don't think there is any bad gelato in Sicily.

Tommaso Pante

Tommaso Pante was magnifico! He has such great knowledge (history, art, botany, social issues, etc.) and passion about Sicily. I looked forward every day to hearing what he has to say about his country. Our group enjoyed his wonderful sense of humor. He did a tremendous job making sure our trip was a success. Tommaso is a true gem!

Nina Bernardo

Nina Bernardo was wonderful — outstanding in all areas, but more than that, she is so lively and has such a wonderful sense of humor. Nina also has a deep and authentic commitment to Italy — not only to its incredible heritage of archeology, architecture and art, but also to the country and its people today. In conveying this she got us past the gee-whiz kind of tourism and into a truer and deeper appreciation of Italy and the Italians. Plus she really likes to have fun — and that was contagious!
