Tour Member Raves from the British Isles
"There were several 'wow' moments. The first one occurred on the Thames boat ride. I turned around as we were leaving Westminster Dock and saw Big Ben, Parliament, and Westminster Abbey spread before me. It was quite a striking view! My second 'wow' moment was seeing the song lyrics written by The Beatles on envelopes and scrap paper in the display at the British Library!"

"I did not expect to fall so completely in love with the English and Welsh countryside and the people, especially. Sharing a language and hence the ability to chat up the local people made my experience so much more meaningful. Loved the sheepdog demo — such a demonstration of the human-animal bond! Standing on Hadrian's Wall, Vinolanda, York, Conwy, the folk ensemble who entertained us in the Cotswolds, our fabulous guide, and a wonderful group of people all made this trip exceptional!"

"As an independent traveler, I was a bit dubious about the whole idea of a tour group. But given that rural Scotland would be a challenge to tour on my own, I decided to sign up for the tour. My 'wow!' moment came when our tour guide, Martin, played some wonderful Scottish music over the bus speakers and, from my seat in the back, I watched our whole tour group raise their arms and sing along with the music! I laughed so hard. My 'wow!' moment was that you could take 25 or so people, set the 'no cranks' ground rule, give them a great and entertaining guide, and have an outstandingly good time. THAT is saying something!"

"The whole trip was full of magic 'wow' moments. 1. Discovering the music in the pubs. It is real, spontaneous, and really grabs something in your soul. 2. Discovering the amazing geography. But my favorite was dancing on the bogs. That was most amazing and magical. Feeling the earth move like that is without explanation. 3. The historical architecture. It was breathtaking. No words come to me about what one feels when walking through a ruin that has so much history and such rich stories to give (thanks to the amazing people who tell the stories to bring it alive). 4. Last but not least, celebrating my husband's 60th birthday with the friendly Irish people and our new family of 28 and our best new friend, Barry. We just happened to be touring the Bushmill's that day and the whiskey was fine. Thanks!
