A Letter from a Viewer
Dear Rick Steves,
Did you know that New Hampshire Public Television preceded your program last Sunday afternoon with a warning that it was for mature audiences? I called the station today and Viewer Services told me that it had been flagged because it contained nude statuary. What are we doing? Returning to the days of fig leaves and banning in Boston???
I really think this is a horrific thing — for public television, both NHPTV and PBS to become agents for the new prudery. I hope that you will work to make certain that neither children nor adults are discouraged from watching cultural programs because of this "decency" nonsense.
