A Letter from Civita: The Forgotten Hill Town Has Been Discovered

Rick & Franco
Our European friends — such as Franco in Civita — keep us posted about the latest changes.

For years, we've heralded the magical and untouristed charms of our favorite hill town anywhere in Italy, Civita di Bagnoregio. Our friends there have enjoyed hosting our traveling readers as if they were family. But recently I received this desperate communiqué from the man who runs the only B&B in town (and one of its three restaurants) about Hollywood moving in...and the seemingly imminent death of one of the original "Back Doors." We hope he's overreacting. But just to be cautious, we're sending his message on to you:

Dear Rick,

I hope you are fine and hope to see you in Civita again next spring.

I wish to inform you about a big good news about Civita. In this day, a big international cast is shooting in Civita the new film Pinocchio. The cast is plenty of international actors like Bob Hoskins (as Mastro Geppetto), Joss Ackland (as Mastro Ciliegio), and many other Italian and international actors. I'm sure that after this film, Civita become very popular worldwide and unfortunately we have to say good-bye to the best Civita that we discover many years ago.

And last but not least, in November the Italian president Mr. Napolitano decide to come to visit Civita. I let you imagine what happened after this visit.

I'm very glad to be in Civita in the past years to meet and work with the real you and your beautiful peoples, because I think Civita is not any more the same after all this happen.

I wish to thank you for the time you spent to read my email and I wish for you and your family all the best.

Ciao!!!
Franco, Civita B & B

P.S. I'm so sorry if my English is not perfect but I hope you can understand my writing.
