Hi from Rick: Twelve new TV shows ready for take-off

Dear Traveler,
I feel like a proud new parent every other October, as a brand new season of our TV series premiers on public television. And I'm happy to announce that, in the coming weeks, stations across America will start airing our all-new "Season 5" of Rick Steves’ Europe.
I'm very excited about this new season. Two years in the making, our dozen new episodes will vividly transport you to Europe as never before. It's as if you're right there with me — slurping escargot in Burgundy, scampering through dramatic ruins at the spot that Ancient Greeks called "the navel of the earth," and wandering through Salvador Dali's home as if he just stepped out and left you the keys.
Connecting with people who've found their niche in life carbonates any travel experience. In each new episode, my European friends — who dish up travel fun with a contagious joie de vivre — will inspire us to live life to its fullest. We'll sample rich red wines with a Burgundian canal boat captain while navigating the locks and gliding by golden fields of sunflowers. With a Czech teacher, we'll try our best to appreciate the famously stinky cheese of Olomouc. And, with a Danish food nut, we'll strive to appreciate the art of explosive aquavit and pungent herring.
In this month's Travel News we’ll celebrate the locations of our newest shows — from Istanbul to Bern to Barcelona and beyond — with some special-focus articles and descriptions of every new episode.
If you're hoping to add these dozen destinations to your Rick Steves DVD collection, stay tuned...we'll have some exciting news for you in November.
Whether you're planning to visit Europe in a few weeks or a few years (or looking forward to reliving the thrills of past trips), I hope you'll find our new TV shows have been worth the wait. I'm already proud of them. It's a wrap!
Happy travels,
Rick
