Charity Eurail Pass Special Raises $35,000 Annually

Because of our continued success selling Eurail, Rick Steves' Europe through the Back Door earns a number of free Eurail Flexipasses to use as we wish each year. Each spring for the past several years, Rick has given these passes free to travelers who donate a specified amount to Bread for the World. In 2008, donations of $850 from each traveler will help raise $37,400 to help Bread for the World advocate for the homeless and hungry.
If you miss this opportunity, please consider making your own donation directly to Bread for the World. You can also add your voice to their Offering of Letters. This year's offering asks our government for significant increases in poverty-focused development assistance to meet the Millennium Development Goals.
Bread for the World is a Christian citizens' movement that lobbies our government to be more concerned about the needs of hungry and homeless people in the USA and around the world. They excel at working with congress to write bills or review existing bills in order to defend the needs of hungry people. Historically each and every dollar given to Bread for the World generates more than $100 in aid to hungry people. When our government tries, it can do great things for poor people.
