The Waypoint Bar & Grill in Oban was very good. They fit our group of 7 in without the blink of an eye. We had no reservation because the # in the guide book was incorrect. The area code had been transposed. Listed is 08740 should be 07840.

The first sentence of the Basic History section is wrong. It says that Julius Caesar conquered Britain in 55 BC. He failed to conquer Britain; it wasn't until 43 AD that Claudius launched the successful invasion.

We travelled england, scotland, wales april, 2011, and found frequent price increases, only partly because of the VAT...and this was using a dec 2010 printing of the guidebook for 2011....not surprising of course....but otherwise your research is amazing in its detail and accuracy, and invaluable for having a really enjoyable travel experience.

You might want to check on the National Museum of Scotland. They are undergoing major renonvations and some of the things we wanted to see (September 2010) were not open.

RE: Feorlin B&B in Oban, Scotland. The map in "Great Britain 2010" was woefully lacking. Feorlin was also much, much better than your lukewarm description. Far from being "isn't glamorous", we found it comfortable, roomy with lots of storage space for our luggage, had a mirror with electrical outlet complete with hair dryer (both rare in the UK), flat screen TV, pretty art work, nice deco--in total, you guys didn't give Lorna Campbell a good description at all! We paid only 55 pounds for the two of us, and had a great night and wonderful breakfast with Lorna. Breakfast included eggs from her own hens. Also, please fix that horribly drawn map!

The Edradour Distillery tour in Pitlochry, Scotland, is no longer free but costs 5 pounds per person. Since I was using the 2009 Great Britain guidebook, I don't know if this has been corrected in the latest edition.

p. 122, 123 and 124 Snapshot Scotland, 2010. Could you clarify in the future that the narrated Bowman's bus rides on the road across Mull from Craigmore to Fionnphort occur only on their "tour" buses and not on their "scheduled" buses even though the same company and same equipment and same route?

In the 2010 Great Britain guidebook, there are contact errors for ELGIN VILLA. The phone number given is for another establishment down the street. The correct number is 1225/424-557. They just changed ownership and the new owner told me the new e-mail is elginvilla@hotmail.co.uk. The new owners are Margarita and Peter Marsh.

"Ewe-Phoria" in Llangwm, Wales is not operating. We based our three days in North Wales last week around the show time on Wednesday and checked their web site just to be sure it was on. However, the place was deserted and black tape covered the event and time. That was a long way to go for a non-event.

Eton college product, number of prime-ministers would be now 19:-) Cameron was sworn in on the day we were driving towards Heathrow and I was reading the book to decide what to do in the area so the little detail stuck in my head.

2009 Great Britain says that we should get the guides to demonstrate the magnetic ley lines with divining rods. We asked the two guides we saw, and they said they don't do that anymore. They said it's not considered a "fact" about Stonehenge. (A fellow tourist did happen to overhear us and let us use hers - it was really interesting!) We were directed to a store in Avebury called The Henge Shop, where we were able to buy a set of our own to explore the Avebury ruins.

I have the 2009 Great Britian Guidebook & was looking into the Scottish Showtime Experience Folk Show in Inverness, Scottland & got this message on the website: "After 37th Summer Seasons, It is with great sadness and regret, that the final curtain has come down on
Scottish Showtime.
Maggie and I would like to thank all the artists who have played, danced and performed throughout the years, giving so much pleasure entertaining thousands of locals and visitors from all over the world. From the inspiration of John Worth and dedication of Margaret Firth to the endless names of those who gave their time and support over the last three and a half decades. Special appreciation to all the faithful drivers, couriers, groups and company's who returned year after year, and to absent friends and everyone who took part in making Scottish Showtime such a success."

In October 2009, the Apsley House (Wellington Museum) in London was open 11am to 5pm, not 10am to 4pm. The nearby Wellington Arch, however, continues to open at 10 or 10:30, I believe.

Cadenhead's Whiskey shop has changed and doesn't give tastings anymore but we are guessing you know that because one of your editors came into the store while my husband was getting his whiskey education.

Great Britiain, 2009: p 444 Ewe-Phoria Sheepdog Show, near Ruthin, North Wales: This attraction is temporarily closed. The owner is "having troubles with his voicebox" and is unable to speak. He is arranging for a friend to take over the public presentations in August.

The National Gallery in London is no longer open extended hours on Tuesday evening. I believe it's now Friday.
The most important website for public transport in Britain is traveline, which you mention, although you don't sufficient emphasize it. But you have the web site wrong. It isn't www.traveline.co.uk, which is some squatter website. It's www.traveline.info or www.traveline.org.uk, take your pick.
There were other web pages which were incorrect. It's time for a re-check.

I have tried multiple times via email and telephone to reach the Forth House in Warwick England and never received any reply or response to the voicemails that I've left. This is from your 2007 book, so maybe they're already gone, but if not you should consider dropping them.
