Christmas show
The Christmas show is destined to be a favorite classic! The photography, the editing, the musical choices, the introduction with the Fra Angelicos and narration..all first rate. The emphasis on tradition and family and not on consumerism, i.e., out-spending each other, is a welcome breath of fresh air. Congratulations on a job well done.

Christmas Show
I just watched Rick's Christmas show. Really, really good. I can't imagine how it could be better. The families skiing down the mountain after getting their tree was my favorite scene. What magic!

Thanks for the show...
As I write this, I am enjoying your show. This episode is the one in England. I just want you to know that I live in a small community here in North Iowa, and would love the experience of trveling to Europe. Thanks for the show and hopes and dreams of traveling. Bob Prindle in Iowa

Dear Mr. Steves,
Yesterday I saw your foray into Alsace on PBS. Those two blaring the Marseillaise give a false impression as does the parroting of French. Did you not wonder why a country that was 98% German-speaking should be suddenly French-speaking ? Alsace Lorraine had its own democratically elected government with wide ranging jurisdiction (wider than a Canadian province!) in its own language before 1918. Did you not wonder why it has now to submit to the Paris dictatorship and an alien language? Not a stone of those buildings you showed speaks French, a language that came into the land at the point of bayonettes. Children who spoke their dialect in and around school where abused up to torture as punishment. That is the French reality in Alsace Lorraine. Yours

Rick was on in Orlando
As I started this thing, I need to say that I got to see Rick this past weekend on cable - channel 7 from Orlando. Two shows. 1:30 and 2:30. Wish they would schedule him earlier in the day due to all that busy Saturday stuff! The travel shows used to be Saturday mornings but now they seem to be later and later. But I am happy that I got to see Rick.

Rick on Wisconsin PBS
When I lived in Green Bay, Wisconsin I loved watching Rick's show on Saturdays. I have been to Europe 11 times and counting and have actually used many of Rick's tips like choosing certain restaurants and hotels in the Paris Rue Cler district. Now that I live in New Jersey I find it hard to find Rick on TV this subject has given me some good info.

Re: Miss Rick
I too live in central Florida and watch Rick Steves every week on PBS -WUSF. Check with your cable company. I can actually catch the show twice a week if I so desire, as it is on Monday nights and Saturday afternoons. I enjoy seeing places I have been and get a kick out Mr. Steve's sense of humor! Thanks!

UKRAINE
i would like very much to have you show your program using the UKRAINE. as it really is very affordable and full of wonderful sites that many persons do not see. such as the grand train from kiev to lviv in the west over night and a great hotel the grand hotel right in downtown. and even the bus ride from kiev to dnepetrovzhinzk in the east. the hotel montana right on the dniper river with a great view for 40-80 USD$/night with breakfast and they take credit cards. from there you can drive to the OREL RIVER and swim in the summertime in warm water with currents and sandy bottom river. plenty to see and do in kiev too. as i rent an apartment there in city center 40-65 USD$ / night. and the dniper river cruise 1-3 hours. and many places to eat AT . VERY AFFORDABLE.. perhaps see you with this on TV SOON.
i will be returning this mid nov 2005. to experience the winter there. it will be very interesting to see....do svidanija

I miss Rick!
I live in central Florida. TV comes from Orlando. Right now there is no Rick on TV! No listings at all. I always enjoyed his shows in the past. Even reruns. My husband and I travel and we have used Rick's books and advice. And this website is invaluable. I miss Rick and want him back!
