London car rental
I'm looking for a "cheap" car rental around Heathrow. Off property is fine as it should be less expensive, as is a local only rental company. Any thoughts?

Kayak.com. You should be able to pull it off for about twenty bucks a day if you take it for a week or more. Maybe thirty per for a shorter period. It'd be as as small as they come and with a manual transmission.
Location won't make much difference, but make sure that, even if you stick in LHR, it doesn't give you an outfit at LCY or STN.
Sorry, I should have mentioned that I'm looking for an automatic. Just one less thing to worry about. I've checked all of the big search engines and now I'm starting to dig.
Automatic is beyond my experience, but watch out. I've been in line behind a lot of people who where stumped to find out that they'd signed up for one but it wasn't available and nothing could be done about it.
