Blenheim Guest House

Has anyone stayed at the Blenheim Guest House in Woodstock, GB? Any recommendations for sleeping in the Cotswolds?

I can recommend any of the 25 Cotswolds accommodations recommended by Rick in his book(s). My personal favorite is Jill Carenza's Vine B&B in the tiny village of Stanton, but be advised that Stanton is very small. There are at least 24 other good choices.

We loved the Vine in Stanton. In nearby Ford there is a pub, The Plough, that serves very good food. Stowe is also close to Stanton.

Stanton's single pub (on top of the hill) features the owner's dog who can let himself out for walks by opening a closed door pushing down the English latch with his paws. When I complimented the dog and owner, he (the owner, not the dog, the dog doesn't talk, yet) said: "Yeaaahhh, but I'd be more impressed with him if he knew how to let himself back in."

Hello Carole. I was a guest at the Blenheim Guest house in Woodstock. It is pleasant. In the rooms the furnishings and draperies are of a very old style, the cushioned chairs and sofa were very old. But it was comfortable, and quiet. I went there for a night because it is located around the corner from the Blenheim Palace. I did not like the Blenheim Palace. I liked the town. The Pub (very old) is a good place for lunch. And there is a small antiques (collectibles) store. I liked talking with local English people there. Retired persons go to the Woodstock Post Office to receive their pension checks. They like to talk about their experience being in the British navy during World War 2. A bulletin board was outside, across the street from the Post Office: it has announcements of local events. Woodstock is in Oxfordshire. In northern Gloucestershire, I liked the Treetops B & B in Morten-in Marsh. It is within walking distance of the train station. A car, and bicycle, can be rented there.
