Atlantis Travel Agency in Athens - No Replies to Emails
Has anyone had problems with any travel agencies and especially Atlantis Travel Agency out of Athens? This company came highly recommended by my cousin who cruised with them at the time of 9/11. I have given them my credit card number number, been charged for the down payment and was to be charged for the second installment on April 1st with the balance due upon our arrival in July. However, Zak is not responding to my emails. Does anyone have any suggestions as to what we should do?

Good news! After repeated emails to Atlantis Travel Agency, I thought to write the President Hotel where we were to stay before our trip. They emailed back to state that the travel agency had booked our nights with them. I then asked if they would phone the agency and notify them that we had written them repeatedly. Within an hour I heard from the travel agency along with another email from the hotel who had called the agency. All is straightened out and we are feeling relief.
This might help someone else in the future.

Charlene, I used Fantasy travel and also felt they were not as responsive as I would have liked at the time. After paying half the bill, I contacted both hotels and confirmed a reservation had been made. In the end everything worked out well, and we had a very nice trip. Perhaps the slow response time shows a difference in cultures. In the States people generally expect a quick response when conducting business with an agency. Other countries may be more relaxed in this situation. Just as you are discovering with Atlantis, Fantasy Travel did a good job and were pleasant to deal with. For multiple destinations, and especially travel during the Orthodox Easter Holiday, I would be more relaxed about response time and use Fantasy Travel again. I think you will have a great time and will enjoy the help of the Travel Agent.
Kim, thanks for your reassurance. I truly appreciate it. I had been emailing them since late February. They had stated that they would take my second installment on April 1st and had not done so yet. Therefore, I was worried that they had gone out of busness or who knows what?
So you can imagine the relief I received when the hotel helped me get in touch with them. WHEW!
