Help finding an apartment in Paris!
Hello, I am turning to this message board in dire need of help. I am an American college student who will studying abroad in Paris for the month of June only. I am trying to find an apartment for myself and two female friends, so a total of three females. I've been looking since December (no joke!, sadly) on craigslist, parisianhome, lodgis, and various other real estate websites. We keep encountering scam artists and unfriendly/unhelpful agents. Does any know of any reliable sources to find an apartment asap? Or know how to find a host family? Anything? I'm flying to Europe in a week... so I'm starting to panic.
Thank you for the help!

Sara, Try vrbo.com. All individual owners, great luck with them or historicrentals.com. Also have seen great comments for vacationinparis.com, a New Jersey based company. One of those should fit your needs! Good luck and I am so envious of your upcoming trip. Paris is my favorite city in the world!
First, don't panic. The stress will wear you down before you get there. Who needs that? Secondly, try www.journeywoman.com and www.feelslikehomeinparis.com Third, don't miss the Rodin Museum. Enjoy your stay in Paris.
We had a very good experience w Parisbestlodge.com
We used Parsiattitude.com (nice name, right?) They had all price ranges of apartments. It did take about a week to get all the paperwork done, but the people we dealt with were fantastic. We rented for a week, so a month for them is not problem.
Good Luck!
We've had excellent success with homelidays.com. You see ratings from past visitors and deal directly with the owners. However, at this late date, you might have trouble finding something in Paris itself...you may have to settle for something in the 'burbs, not too bad if it's close to an RER stop.
You might try parlerparis.com. It is a site primarily devoted to teaching foreigners how to buy real estate in France but they also advertise some rentals. The owner has been featured on House Hunter's International and she is an American expat who rents three of her own apartments.
I just posted on another blog. My wife and I use Vacation In Paris. Pay in dollars. Have key before you leave. Their web site has a lot of detalis and we found our studio exactly as listed on their site. Their web site, "vacationinparis.com" has a phone number you can call. They are based out of New Jersey. T would use them again. Good luck. Tom
check out historicrentals.com. George is very reputable and helpful
