IPod Touch in Europe

My boyfriend and I are traveling around Western Europe for 3.5 weeks and we thought it might be helpful to have an IPod touch to store information and to use as for internet. Does anyone if there is easy access to internet around the main cities in Western Europe? Would we even be able to use the internet function of the IPod Touch?

You should be able to use it anywhere that there is a WiFi hotspot. In major cities, those should be fairly easy to find (like at Internet cafes).

I'm also planning to bring an iPod Touch to Europe this summer. Useful for checking email, watching a movie during the flight, listening to a Rick Steves audio tour, etc. I'm also using the iPod's calendar function to track my itinerary, hotel details, confirmation numbers, etc.

As with anything valuable and easily grabbed, just be on guard for attempts at petty theft.

You might enjoy loading your iPod Touch with some of the free Rick Steves' Europe videos on iTunes. I loaded over 20 of them onto mine. Here's the link:

You can also search iTunes for his free audio tours of major sites -- they're very well done.
