Book museums in advance?
There are going to 4 of us going to Rome for 6 days at the end of September. We are also going to take a day trip up to Florence.
That being said, I have seen some websites that will let you book museum reservations ahead of time (I can even book them now) for the Borghese, Uffizi and Accademia Galleries. Are these services worth it or should I wait until we actually get to Italy? Our plans/itinerary are pretty set.
Thanks!

Book the Borghese directly and for the two in Florence call wherever you'll be taking your day trip from and ask them to make reservations.
I would book them all yourself.
If you can- don't wait, book now. The Borghese is definitely worth seeing & has a limited availability per time slot. It is very unlikely that they will have any available tickets if you wait until you get to Italy to book. P.S.: You must pick up your tickets to the Borghese 30 minutes prior to your slot.
Book the museums in advance. Do it yourself or ask your hotel to do it for you, don't pay the extra fees an agency will charge. It's probably too early to book the museums now but within a few months of your trip try to book the museums in Florence. The Borghese Gallery only accepts reservations up to 30 days in advance.
Yesterday morning I called Florence at 6am and quickly and easily made reservations for both Uffizi and Accademia galleries. The operator came on quickly, I asked in italian if she spoke english, and I was reserved and off the phone in under 5 minutes.
Compared to the online reservation services, I saved about $40 per person.
I don't have the number with me, but I know someone has posted it on here somewhere.
Here's the link to the correct phone number to book the museums in Florence: click
the number in the Italy book is wrong
Do what Jill did and call during business hours in Italy.
