Any suggestions for easy hikes. I am planning my next trip to Switzerland with my grandson,he loves hiking, he will be 9 but I am in my 50's. Any suggestion for mountain hikes that are not too diffulcult. I will be staying in the Wallis area. Thanks

You didn't mention where in Switzerland you are going to be staying. But in general, Switzerland has trails like we have Wal-marts:) Seriously, there are hiking opportunities for all ages and fitness levels-all very well signed and stunningly beautiful. I highly recommend the Berner Oberland area: Lauturbrunnen, Wengen, Murren,, Gimmelwald. Rick's Switzerland guidebook has an entire chapter dedicated to hiking in this region.

If you look under routes you can choose the area that you are in and the difficulty level that you would like for your hike.

Hi Mark,

... we've seen lots of television programs in which visitors went to Gimmelwald in the Bernese Oberland of Switzerland. They got to Gimmelwald by gondola lift, etc. They hiked DOWNHILL from there. You don't have to be an expert to know that's easier, do you?

Check out the above link. Suggest you copy the link, then paste it into your Internet address box - then press ENTER on your keyboard...

... Yodel while you are up there, OK?

All the best, P
