London and the Cotswolds in September

I am travelling to London and the Cotswolds in September. I like to travel light (just a backpack). What is the weather like during that time? I don't want to pack heavy coats and sweaters, so is there another alternative?! Anyone have any packing ideas that might make it more pleasant instead of a hassle! Thanks!

Hello Natalie. I think September is the best month for being in ENGLAND. Bring a jacket and sweater and umbrella.

We have been there several times in September and have always had mostly great weather. We always take a light goretex rain jacket and a sweater or lightweight fleece along with a turtleneck shirt. We will be there in Oct this year and will be taking the same. Have fun.
