Paris: Where to Stay? What to see in 3 days?

We arrive into Paris on Friday august 29th via eurotrain from London. Since we only are staying 3 days and we need to catch a fly on Sept 1 at 7:00 am I was thinking about getting a B&B room near the main places to see and spend the last nite near the airport. Any advise on that? Is the Airport near the historic place?

thanks

Public transportation in Paris is so good, that its probably a better idea to pick a neighborhood based on ambience than on proximity to sites. And the main tourist attractions in Paris are rather diffusely spread out, so staying near one will place you farther away from others. Staying near the airport to catch a 7 am flight is a good idea, though.

Most people buy a guidebook for even a short visit to Paris. There's too much to do there for us to just mention 2 or 3 obvious things here, that doesn't serve your needs for a 3 day trip. But here's a link to get you started, scroll down and you'll see many links for Paris: click
