Prague - Accomodations

I've read that Prague is becoming disneylike and comparing prices that maybe an outer area like Kutna Hora may be a good option for staying overnight.

Would we be missing something special by staying outside the city?

As always, I would appreciate your comments.

Yes, Prague is sort of Disney-fied and becoming over-touristed, but it is still worth seeing, all the same. The outskirts of Prague resemble les banlieus of Paris, although I could not comment on the countryside.
