Flying to Athens

I am considering taking a flight into Athens, preferably departing from Venice, Rome, or Geneva. I had originally intended on taking a Minoan ferry from Venice to Patras, but thought I could try and cut down all those hours of travel with a shorter plane trip. So far all the websites I’ve looked at (Easyjet, Ryanair, Hxl, etc) either offer a very expensive flight or no connection in Athens at all. Does anyone know of a more Greece-orientated airline or have a different suggestion? Thanks!

Aegean Air (a Greek discount carrier, http://www.aegeanair.com/aegeanen/home/index.asp) flies Athens-Rome Fiumicino for as low as 59 Euro. AlpiEagles (an Italian airline, http://www.alpieagles.com/?lang=EN) flys Athens (Atene)- Venice...but their charge is about 129 Euro.

Olympic Airlines, the national airline of Greece is another option, http://www.olympicairlines.com.

Plugging an imaginary date of May 17, Rome to Athens is $127.10 USD, while Geneva to Athens on May 18 (there were no such flights on May 17) is $180.60. Not as good at the 59 Euro price that Norm found, but it is an option.

I flew Axon airlines a few years ago from Milano to Athens for $99 one way. Try europebyair.com. They sell vouchers on discount European airlines.
