Staying in Haarlem
I'll be in the Netherlands for 6 nights. Since I planned to take day trips in addition to two days in Amsterdam, I decided to stay in Haarlem where it's quieter and the hotels are cheaper. Any advice on this plan?

Do you have Rick Steve's book: Amsterdam - if you don't, get it - if you do, any of his recommendations in Haarlem are good. Also, check out "Travel (trip?) Adviser" (google it) Lots of recommendations and evaluations. I have stayed in Haarlem before but am staying in Amsterdam this August, but, in finding places to stay, you are certainly correct on your evaluation of Haarlem.
