The city's most popular attraction is it's large zoo; easily reached via tram from the main train station. There is also the Swiss National Museum, and a lot of high-end shopping in the city-center.

I am big fan of the Marc Chagall Stained Glass in the Fraumunster Church. It's such a departure from all the gothic churches here in the UK

If that's not your cup of tea than lots of high end shopping is there.

The lakefront is beautiful and the boats offer fun rides with lots of scenery...the boats are free if you have a Swiss Pass.
