You're welcome, Susan! Using Google to search the Helpline made it easy (took less than a minute) to find ALL the posts ever made on your question, instead of just the one or two you might have received from the relatively small group of forum users that would see your post.

For others, click here for step by step instructions on how to find ALL the answers to your question!

You're welcome! I'm glad the new search method helped you. No apology necessary: we aren't allowed to have permanent stickie topics here and because of that, the search method instructions are difficult to find--that's what we're here for. (and you have a right to be treated nicely!)

Happy travels! Come back any time if you have other questions.

If your rental agency doesn't work out, I would check out www.vrbo.com (vacation rentals by owner). We've rented a place from them in Florida on 2 different occasions and in April we rented a great apartment in the Latin Quarter. We are a family with 2 children, so the apartment route was great for us. vrbo.com has many apartments in all areas of Paris, so if you cannot find what you are looking for, you might want to give it a try.

Enjoy!

Thanks SuzieeQQ for your suggestion...I have checked them out, plus about 30 other agencies :) vrbo.com did not have anything on Ile St. Louis, which is our favorite neighborhood in Paris, that we could afford. Paris Attitude has a great looking one that is very reasonably priced (a studio). Thanks!

We decided to go with a different agency, ParisAddress. One of my friends had a great experience with this agency when she went to Paris last summer with her family, so we took her advice and booked a 2-bedroom apartment on the Ile St Louis. We don't actually go until July, so I can't vouch for the apartment, but the service I've received so far has been excellent. We did choose the optional insurance because it protects against cancellation fees, a potential problem in our case.

They have properties all over the city in all price ranges, but the cheaper ones tend to go quickly, so book as soon as you can.

Thanks so much Ashley, you must be so excited! I am and we're not going until May of next year. We absolutely love Paris and can never get enough of it. I hope you have a great time!

Susan,

We are currently having a "comparitive" experience. We booked two weeks in Paris (separated by a week on the Canal du Centre). The first week with ParisAddress, and the second through vrbo directly with an individual who lives in Oakland, CA.

ParisAddress definitely superior. Their website is highly detailed as to the features of the property, a company greeter checks you in (Marco was quite charmant.), their inclusive prices are quite competitive. Much better than the experience we are having now--ok, but just not the same quality.

We will use ParisAddress again...soon.

Thanks Bill! I did try that agency but they didn't have what we were looking for. I got a lot of private messages from people who had a good experience with Paris Attitude so we went ahead and booked an apartment with them. They have been great so far. Thanks again Bill!

Susan, please read the posts about Paris Attitude on Trip advisor:

http://www.tripadvisor.com/ShowTopic-g187147-i14-k555543-Renting_from_PARIS_ATTITUDE_agency-Paris_Ile_de_France.html

We always use VRBO or Homelidays.com for our rentels. We just got back from Paris and used Homelidays for this trip.

Hi Steve, Thanks for the post. I've "spoken" to 8 people on this site that used ParisAttitude.com and they all loved the agency. We've already booked an apt w/them and they have been great. I checked out about 30 other agencies before choosing ParisAttitude, including vrbo.com. They didn't have anything on Ile Saint Louis (the only neighborhood we like to stay in) that we liked. The apt we're renting from ParisAttitude is perfect for us. Thanks!

Paris Attitude was a waste of time. I found an apartment I liked and posted a request. Amelie GROUSSEAU responded saying that the apartment was not available and suggesting three other apartments. I selected one, and the next day she responded that she could not get a hold of the owner, but had left a message and expected a response shortly. The next day she wrote again proposing three other apartments. I responded that all three were acceptable, and indicated the order of our preference. I never heard form her again. So after a week of wasting time with Paris Attitude, I checked out vrbo.com, found an apartment, sent an email directly to the owner, and 12 hours later had a great apartment lined up with no security deposit.

We stayed in a Paris Attitude apt over the holidays and, while the apartment was decent and worked well for my family, we are having tremendous difficulty with the owner. We left 6 weeks ago and still do not have our deposit back. The owner is now suggesting that we caused damage to the furniture--which we did not. He was not there to meet us on our arrival because we our flight was delayed. He was not there to meet with us on our departure because it was too early. He promised to wire our deposit back within 3 days. Although the agency is trying to help, there is little they can do. It would be great if deposits could be held in an escrow account to avoid problems like this...
