1-1/2 days in Barcelona
We have one full day and one half day in Barcelona before we depart on a cruise. Any advice or recommendations regarding something called "hop on/hop off bus tour" or other ways to see highlights of Barcelona in this time frame would be appreciated. Thanks.

We were in Barcelona last fall and found the tour bus (hop on/hop off bus) to be a great way to cover many major sites. We had walked a lot in the old section (wonderful) and my knees were hurting so just being able to ride around for awhile and still see things was nice.
We were staying at the Hotel Colon across from the Cathedral and there was a bus stop right by the square. The stops are all well marked and the scedule is available at the stops. The buses are double decker with a great view from the top.
About half of the people on our flight from Amsterdam to Barcelona were going to connect with cruises!

Here's my two day recommendation: http://quia-absurdum.com/barcelona/two_days.html If you want a more relaxed pace, perhaps you might skip the Parc Güell. I've heard good things about the HO-HO, but haven't actually had the experience. Enjoy the trip.
