Slovenia & Croatia

We plan to visit Slovenia's Julian Alps, Croatia's lake region and then visit the towns up and down Croatia's coastline. Can anyone suggest the best modes of transportation?

We were in Germany several years ago and rented a car in Germany and drove to Slovenia.We had a great time althouge we cdidnt go to Croatia.In the eastern part of Slovenia there is a canyon called Logarska Dolina that was very nice.best regards jack

My wife and I are going to the Czech Republic, Austria, Slovenia, and Croatia--May 11--30th. Will be glad to share what we learned when we get back. Our current plans are to only rent a car in Slovenia--in Croatia we understand bus or boats (up and down the dalmatian coast) is the best way to go.

We did the same trip in 2005. We rented a car to travel around Slovenia, went by train from Ljubljana to Zagreb, and then used buses and ferries to travel down the coast in Croatia.

We spent two weeks traveling last summer from Budapest through Slovenia and Croatia by car. Piece of cake! MUCH easier than England.
