"Italian Notebook" tip and a question about the Forum

Today's feature is about the Roman Forum and recommends an early morning walk. I understand from references that the Forum opens at 0830. Is it possible to walk through any earlier than 0830? I love to see a city at dawn, before it is fully awake.

A few years ago, yes. Unfortunately no longer. They decided to start charging admission to the Forum (included with the Colosseum/Palentine ticket) in early 2008. You can see it from the street, but the actual Forum itself is fenced off and not open until the actual opening time.
