1-Day in Paris
We will have one day in Paris...taking the Eurostar from London at 5:30AM and returning at 9:00PM. We are going to the Louvre and and will do normal sightseeing. Question: Is it worth the cost to purchase a Museum card??

Ask yourself: How many museums are you planning to visit? What is the total admission charge of the museums you want to visit?
Do you want to skip the admission paying lines at the museum? what is this worth to you in Euros. Subtract that from the cost of of going to the museums.
How much is the museum pass, if it is more than all of the above, then don't buy it?
And for the Louvre, enter via the inverted pyramid entrance (Carousel du Louvre), walk through the underground mall (past the food court with the McDonalds), and head for the ATM like machine with no one lining up to purchase tickets. Then head to the entrance, wait to pass through security (you have to line up there no matter what) and enjoy!
Make sure you purchase Rick Steves' Paris, the self guided tour of the Louvre in the book is worth the price of the whole bool.
Thanks Steve. the 2010 RS London book has a Paris day trip itinerary. We're going to try that out...We'll also ask the hotel if they have any bright ideas...This isn't our first RS tour and we know the people at the hotels always seem to give us a plan that doesn't waste time or money!! Going to the Louvre is my primary goal for our trip to Paris...everything else will be gravy!! :o)
