Cooking / baking workshops in Florence or Rome

I would like to know if anyone has any recommendations for baking (bread or pastry) workshops in either Florence or Rome. I've found a few cooking schools, but they seem to focus on pasta. Thank you.

Some bread and focaccia classes are offered by the Cordon Bleu school of Florence - it depends on when you will be here - or you can email them to see if you can set up a private lesson: http://www.cordonbleu-it.com/english/courses.html

Hi Kerry,

Maybe you could try Dana from Blue Aubergine, here is the link. I did a class with her which I loved about three years ago, but I am not sure if she still offers them. Her site is here: http://www.bluaubergine.com/

Hi Kerry , I enrolled on a long weekend course with a company by the name of A Taste of Rome. They were fantastic to deal , very helpful and as I was traveling by myself , i had a lot questions to ask them . The holiday was exactly as they said and very good value for money . I paid around $ 990 . The weekend was held in their 15c palazzo which is right in the centre of the traffic free Medieval hill top village of Casperia , a real gem just 50 miles N of Rome . I came up on the train from Rome Tiburtina station , about 38 mins and was met locally by Roberto. There are 2 cooking lessons , both very different and a wonderful wine and olive oil tasting with Slow food experts . Our lessons covered a ' full' Italian meal , from antipasti to dolce with everything in between . What i loved about the weekend was the informality , the laughter , the food , wine and olive oil , the people we met , the stunning palazzo.

I'm not one for recommending something to someone , but I would not hesitate to recommend this place , it was just a perfect weekend .
