Eurostar booking London to Paris
I am planning to book 2 seats from London to Paris on the Eurostar. My dates are not firm yet, but it will probably be around December 16, returning on December 21. Can anyone give me information on how busy the trains are likely to be at that time of the year and how far in advance I should book the seats. Thanks

As soon as you know your travel dates purchase your tickets immediately via eurostar.com. The longer you wait the more expensive it will be. Last minute fares are around $300 round trip. Advance non changeable/non refundable fares can be had for as little as $50.
Susan - I agree with Michael as soon as you can firm up your dates book your tickets. Current Advance non changeable/non refundable fare for 2 people departing Dec 16th returning Dec 21st is £208.00.
No, it will not take you to the dreaded Rail Europe site...but it will give you prices in dollars. When you register as being in the U.S., you get prices in dollars at a horrible exchange rate. When you register as being in the UK, you get prices in pounds. Your credit card will then exchange at the current exchange rate which is better than what Eurostar will exchange at online. In the long run, you will save money.
Not only do you get to book your tickets in pounds on the UK version of eurostar.com, you also get to take advantage of special deals for either single (one-way) or return (roundtrip) tickets. For London-Paris on 16 December and Paris-London on 21 December I found a return fare as low as £89.
If I register as a resident of the US, I get a fare of $160 (£98) for 16/21 December.
Booking well in advance (up to 120 days allowed) can get you a single fare as low as £35 and a return fare as low as £59.
