Marco Polo Airport to Venice and back. Is this feasible?

I have been planning my intinerary for my stay in Venice and would like th advice of others as to the cheapest and fastest route to and from the airport into Venice. I will be staying near the Zattere vaporetto stop and planned on taking the vaporetto from there to Piazzale Roma. From there I plan on taking one of the shuttle buses to the airport. The same journey applies for arrival in Venice. I figured this would be faster than taking the Alilaguna boat directly to the airport. Cost wise, I know it comes out about the same for my plan versus the Alilaguna. Water taxi is too expensive. So, does this sound like a feasible plan?

A lot of people find their options to Marco Polo are limited based on when they need to be at the airport. When does your flight leave?

If you don't care about the time, the cheapest transfer to Marco Polo Airport is via ATVO Fly Bus at €3,00.

Travel time to the Piazzale Roma is 20 minutes. For more information, including timetables, see the ATVO Web site's Airport Service page.

Flight leaves sometime between 1 p.m. and 2 p.m. Yes, I was referring to the ATVO shuttle bus. The Alilaguna seems like it would be a nice excursion through the lagoon, but an hour and a half to get to the airport? Seems a bit much. Also, I am taking Easyjet from Venice to Paris. I hear that they still advise you be at the airport 2 hours ahead of time. Is this still necessary for such a short flight and during February?

Never mess around with check in times and Easyjet. It may be Easy to pay them, but airport check in on their mostly full flights can be a real hassle.

And the boat ride from Venice to the airport is a lot more enchanting than the bus!

If you were thinking about buying a multi-hour or day vaporetto pass, that would be the cheapest transport to and from the airport.

If you pick up the pass at the airport, it will cover the orange ACTV bus into P. le Roma and then your vaporetto ride. As well as the reverse to the airport. the ACTV bus is a local but only takes 5 to 10 minutes longer than blue ATVO bus.
