Travel to Cinque Terra

I am going to travel to CT and plan to go there from Rome via La Spezia. How much time does it take from La Spezia to Cinque Terra? Should I take a train or bus?

There are five towns in the CT, all mere minutes apart from each other and La Spezia. Take the train.

Azim - Steve , once again is correct!! From La Spezia it's only a few minutes to the first village, Be sure to walk some tof the trail on the cliffs. My favorite section is from Manarola to Riomaggiore - only about a 25 minute walk , with spectacular views.

Hi, the 5 Terre are 10 (riomaggiore) to 20 (monterosso) minutes far from La Spezia by train. Check this link for more infos on how to reach the 5 Terre by train

It only takes about 20 minutes to get from La Spezia to the first village. I would definitely take the train and look out the left hand side of the train as you get closer to get a great view of the ocean!
