Berlin Hotel Suggestions

I'd like some suggestions for a nice 'pension' or bed & breakfast-type hotel in Berlin. We'll be in Berlin for 3-4 days and are debating whether to stay in the heart of downtown or find something nearer the outskirts (near Tegal airport). We'll have a car.

We stayed in the east side at a place with good connections by tram in the Prenzlauer Berg district called the Myer's Hotel (link). Beautiful garden and patio, walk to the U-Bahn for your day's exploring.

Its right in the capital, but you won't know you're in a big city staying here. Rick has a nice write up about the place.

This place sounds similar to Rick's suggestion. It's also in a quiet neighborhood, where you can walk to the U-Bahn in a few minutes. Good breakfast included in rates.

Note that the owner, who is frequently at the front desk, is French. If you don't know any German, try using French if you know it, as his English isn't very good. (Other staff seem to speak English better.)
