Breisach to Colmar
I'm on a Viking River Cruise in December. I'll have a free afternoon while docked at Breisach and would like to go to Colmar "on my own". I know it's about 12 miles but have not been able to pin down any bus schedule, etc. Can you take a taxi from Germany to France and back?

According to the timetables at www.bahn.de, the German Rail site, there is limited weekday bus service between Breisach and Colmar. Service is more frequent on Saturdays and Sundays. To see for yourself, go to the site and click on the flag drop-down menu for English.
The Bahn schedule won't work for me. So back to my original question. Can you take a taxi from Germany to France and back?
