Le parking a Paris = un vrai cauchemar.

How about an iPhone app to locate a parking place?

This site lists all the official car parks in Paris and has a map of their locations. On the map move your mouse arrow over the "P" for any car park and its name will appear. Click on the "P" for details, including how to book a space and the location of the nearest Metro station(s).

If you pick a car park on the north side of Paris near the Peripherique ring road, you won't have major traffic issues. The map shows one car park in the 18eme arrondissement and one in the 19eme arrondissement, both a little south of the Peripherique. Take the Metro from there to central Paris.

I parked in a underground garage and didn't have any problems, but I wouldn't leave anything in the car.
