eating vegetarian in Paris

Will be in Paris for a few days in early Jan. I am vegetarian and was wondering about menu options. Any experiences and/or recommendations? I am not vegan.

Stay away from meat and poultry. Sometimes you guys don't like eggs. Fresh vegetables and bread are both nice and very available in Paris. Wine is always good, and with a lot of sauce anything can taste great in Paris.

Here is a long list of Parisian vegetarian restaurants.

I lived on cheese plates, bread, french onion soup and wine. Even though the soup stock was probably meat based, it kept me warm during a very cold December. I partially set some of my convictions aside and had some escargot, as I do indulge in seafood when I feel I need a meat hit. Other than that, for lunch, some bree (spelled wrong) cheese on some crusty bread is fabulous.

I was recently in Paris for two weeks and ate mostly vegetarian meals. By far my favorite Thai restaurant was Mai Tai, 1 Rue Villehardouin, 75003 Paris, France 01 42 72 18 77?. It's very near Place de Vosges. An incredible Japanese restaurant is 22,rue Saint-Benoit, 75007 Paris, France, 01 45 44 11 18. The prices were very reasonable and we returned several times because the food and ambiance was so extraordinary.

I found these two sites to be excellent resources about Paris dining, especially vegetarian:
