Zurich hotel

We'll be coming by train from the Berner Oberland to just spend 1 nite in Zurich before flying out the next morning - any suggestions on a hotel or area to stay, so that we can walk around some of Zurich in the late afternoon/evening and then get to the airport in the am? Thanks!!!!

You might check out The Lady Hotel -- Have a friend who recently stayed there...down town, able to walk around the area with no problem.

We did a similar trip last May and had one night in Zurich before flying home. We got the Renaissance on Priceline for $81 USD--new hotel which was upscale with tram nearby which will get you into the city center in 10 minutes and also gets you to the airport quickly. We would definitely stay there again.

We like to spend our first night in zurich after an overnight and long day flight from the west coast of the US. We love to walk around the Altstadt area (Oldtow), which is close to the train station, but across the river. You can also walk along the river down to the lake---very pleasant on a summer evening.

Last time we stayed at the Adler, right in the Altstadt pedestrian zone. It was very nice. It s a 10-minute walk to the train sttion for your morning flight.

We've stayed at the Hotel Leoneck, over the Crazy Cow restaurant. 10 minutes tram/walk from the rail station.
