"open-jawed" flights to Europe

Does anyone have any advice on obtaining plane tickets to one city and out of a different one at decent rates? If I fly from Boston to Munich round trip I can "afford" the fare (lol) But seeing as I would really like to fly to Munich and out of Paris 11 days later the prices I find (on line at least) double. Some sites don't let you look for anything but round trip or one way. I noticed that Kayak does do it...for far better prices than others; but does anyone have any ideas/advice on booking flights like this? Or should I go thru a travel agent and pay a fee to them also?

I find it very hard to believe that open jaw are double. I have never found that. Sometimes open jaw tickets are actually cheaper. Found that frequently. You must not be doing something correct. All sites allow for open jaw pricing -- generally referred to as multi=city and may be available under advance searching or something similar to that. Tell me the your web sites you are using and I will tell you how to find open jaw tickets. What dates are you using? It is as easy as booking RT tickets.

Susan,

Which websites have you been using to search for open-jaw tickets? Most have a tab at the top to select "Multi-City" flights. As the previous reply mentioned, I've never seen fares doubled for open-jaw flights; that seems a bit unusual.

It might be worthwhile to speak to a Travel Agent to see what kind of prices they can find. I always use a Travel Agent to book flights to Europe, and I believe Rick recommends that approach in his books.

Good luck!

Departing Boston 6/17/10, returning 6/28/10. To Munich and from Paris, $1036 on Aer Lingus. To and from Paris, $1021 on Icelandair (nonstop $1299). To and from Munich, $978 with 25 hour return trip, $1326 with acceptable flight times, $1359 for nonstops. Fares found quickly on Kayak.com. Is this anything like what you are finding? What dates did you want to fly?
