Easy to use Travel Blog?
What would you say is the easiest to use travel blog? I've been looking at the three Rick recommends and retro blogging (blogging about a trip I've already been on) to see how the blog works. So far I've had trouble with those, either in adding pictures, changing names, ect. So any blogs that you like?
btw, I definately like the feature where it e-mails everyone you want to read it.

Try Ball of Dirt (www.ballofdirt.com). It's very easy to set up, add pictures or video, edit, etc. - and it has the email feature, too.
Without a doubt, the easiest blogging software for travelling is Posterous. www.posterous.com.
It's totally free and run completely by email. All you do to create a post is write it in an email, attach any pictures or video (if you want to) and send it to your Posterous account. It takes about 1 minute and it's posted. Then, if you set it up, it will automatically alert to Twitter, Facebook, LinkedIn, etc.
What I do is I write my posts on my iPhone or iPod touch and then just send them when I get to a wi-fi area.
As far as the email part, I would have to check.

I think blogspot is extemely easy to use. When I started my first blog a couple of years ago, I thought it was going to be difficult and was be a bit scary. Couldn't believe how quick and simple it was. Have fun.
I've used TravelPod when I did my Europe trip in 2008 and found it easy and simple to use - you can post photos, chart your destination/itinerary and it sends emails to your contacts when you do updates etc..

I agree with previous poster that Travel Pod is easy to use. I have written a few blogs on there and it is very user friendly.
i've tried both blogger and wordpress, and i love wordpress. i can do it on my iphone whilst traveling, and it is super easy to use, both on the iPhone and on my computer. it is not 'professional' in any way--i mainly keep it as a personal journal, though i've shared it on here a few times (www.elbodans.wordpress.com) and i link it to my facebook using networked blogs (a facebook app). adding pictures could not be easier--if you are doing it on a computer you can upload from the computer or directly from a url, and on the iPhone you can add a pic from your library OR take one on the spot and add it (i've done 'the view from where i'm sitting' posts). editing is super easy, too (and the quick edit feature is great, too) i could not recommend it more. also--good for you that you're starting a blog. i very much enjoy writing mine. best of luck to you! if you have any specific questions i'd be happy to give you any advice i can offer (email me--i think my email should appear when i post this, or it should at least give you the option of sending me a rick steves private message)--i've only had mine since last summer, but i write almost daily. Have you found your favorite travel blog yet? I have never used blogger or posterous for travel blogging, but they might work for you. If so, do post a link to your blog, so we can all read about your trip!
In case you haven't find your favorite, here is my favorite: OnTheRoad.to. It has all the features you mentioned: you can add pictures and videos, it will track your journey with GPS location and update your friends with email notifications. I am using the iPhone app, there is also Android app or you can update your blog via the website. You can also email your articles to your blog or you can send them with SMS.
The travel blog is for free, as all the other one, that have been mentioned here.

Just curious to know whether you found the ideal Travel Blog yet? I'm thinking of trying a Blog this year, but not sure my family and friends would even bother to read it? There's no way I'll waste time pounding away on a computer while I'm on holiday if no one is even going to read it!
Another Blog that I've noticed is name.isonthemove.com however the site appears to be a bit "quirky". Sometimes it works fine and other times a message drops down indicating that the Server is busy or something?

They are not yet really famous, but it's simply a question of time!
You can upload unlimited photos, share your trip with friends (by mail or facebook) and they fully support photos with location information (GPS).
So really state of the art!
You can also choose, if your blog is visible for everybody, or only your friends.
And facebook comments are also integrated.

I don't have a travel blog, but I do blog about education (teacherslifeforme.blogspot.com). I've found Blogger to be very easy to use, and will probably set up a seperate blog on there to share our upcoming trip w/ friends back home.
