Prague-Vienna-Budapest-Split Question

My wife and I will be flying into Prague this summer. We are planning on heading to Vienna for a day or so and then after reading many posts would like to stay in Budapest for a few days. The problem I have is that I have found a cheap flight from Vienna to Split, Croatia. I cannot find any budget airlines that fly from Budapest to Split. It looks like we will have to go back to Vienna and then fly out which I am not thrilled about. Any of you have any advice on this matter? Worst case would be taking a day trip to Budapest from Vienna I guess?

The obvious answer is to travel directly from Prague to Budapest and then go to Vienna. Longer journey but solves your problem.

Yeah, and from Budapest you can take a hydrofoil boat to Vienna via Bratislava (takes 6 hours): http://www.mahartpassnave.hu/webset32.cgi?MAHART@@EN@@38@@1029284245 and it cost only around 110 USD.
