Itinerary recommendations

Arriving in Berlin 6/4 leaving 6/13. Will not have a car, should we spend all the time in Berlin or any recommendations for day trips? Just received 2010 guide book so making my way through it as well. Thank you in advance.

You should spend one full day in Potsdam and another full day in the Spreewald Forrest on a boat (like this tour http://www.spreewald-info.de/bernds-kahnfahrten). Also spend at least one half day walking thru the streets of Prenzlauer Berg district, the "Montmartre" of Berlin.

I know Rick's book seems to focus more on the southern part of Germany, but does anyone know of any areas in central Germany? We will be traveling from Berlin to Frankfurt.
