Bus travel on sunday in Italy
Is it a headache to travel on the corse rapide bus from Florence to Siena on a Sunday?, are there any that run on sundays?
We are looking to get into the tuscan hilltowns by way of train and bus from Florence,then to Siena, Montapulciano, and lastly, Cortona. I would take any advice on traveling to these towns.

I took the bus from Florence to Siena (my base). From Siena there is a bus route that stops in Pienza and Montepulciano.All this is very easy and low cost. Get a bus schedule so that you know all the schedules as they are not always regular and sometimes the local runs end before 6pm. However the rest of Tuscany is better done by car. We rented a Avis car in Siena(reserved form US.)for visits to Cortona, Assisi,Deruta,San Gimignano, Orvieto.It is no big deal driving in the country and into these villages.Alot of this is in Ricks guidebooks.
Dear Sandra--We will be arriving at the Malpensa airport this month, on a Sunday evening -- 5:40pm. We are planning to go to Central Station in Milano. Are the buses running from Malpensa to Central Station frequently? Also, we will need to leave Central Station for Varenna in Lake Como that same evening. Do you forsee any problems with transportation? Have you any suggestions on what we need to do?
Your recommendations would be most appreciated.
