Lodging in Piacenza
Anyone spent time in Piacenza? My family and I will be there our first night in Italy (flying into Milan). We're taking a train to & from Piacenza, and would prefer to be centrally located. I've noticed a number of recommended hotels on the outskirts of town, but these are kind of far from center and appear to be big, business-meeting hotels.

Just checking again - anyone out there stayed in Piacenza before? We want to spend a short time there, as my father in law's ancestors are from the area. Not recent enough to be anybody we could stay with, unfortunately.
I just googled "Piacenza pensione" and the name Pensione Serena came up. The reviews are in Italian but Google will translate for you. Seems OK.
