Late arrival in Rome

I am planning a possible trip to Rome in April. For the shortest total fight time, arrival in FCO would be @ 7:10 P.M. Clearing customs, luggage retrieval and travel time into Rome puts us about 10 P.M.-late to check into many hotels. I would appreciate any ideas arriving into Rome late at night.

IF you contact the hotel to let them know you will be arriving late they should have no problems. I would email several to see if they can accommodate you. I don't think it will take you that long to get into Rome but just in case let the hotels know.

Most of Rome is just getting rolling at `10 pm. All of the hotels we have used in Rome have always been wide awake at 10 pm. A small, private B&B might not so just check with them.

I would let them know with your reservation. Also consider a shuttle service directly to your hotel if it would ease your mind. We've stayed at the Smeraldo and they use a service that is 50 Euros- not inexpensive, but direct, as opposed to going to Termini and then finding your hotel.
