The easiest way is probably by bus either from Venice or Trieste. The buses from Venice go through Trieste so you might be better taking the train to Trieste and catching the bus there. Here is a link with info:

According to the Venezia Lines website, they'll be publishing their 2012 schedule in mid-February.

A few things to keep in mind for the Venezia Lines catamaran. It stops in both Porec and Rovinj. It may not run daily. The small additional charge for VIP lounge seating is well worth the price.

Atlas Travel, a Croatian travel company, also runs a catamaran between Porec and Venice. It's designed for day trips, so not certain whether they sell one-way tickets. You could inquire.

If the catamarans don't fit your schedule, then train and bus options are your best bet.
