2-3 Day Budapest Card
We will be in Budapest for 4 days in September and have read about the Budapest Card. Has anyone used one? If so, can you tell me something about it and the savings? Thanks!

It's all laid out on the website:

A 72-hr travel card costs 3,850 HUF per adult.
A Budapest 72 hour card costs 7900 HUF per adult if you order online.
Unless you're set on going to the zoo (it's free with the Budapest card), you'd be hard-pressed to visit enough sites to make it worth your money. FWIW, I only bought the travel card.
Awesome! Thanks so much.
I agree the Budapest Card is no great deal. The Travel cards on the other hand are great deals. The Bpest system of subway, tram and busses is a snap to use and serves tourists well. More at http://www.bkv.hu/en/types_of_tickets_offered_for_tourists/types_of_tickets_offered_for_tourists
The transit pass is a great value, saves time, and is easy to use.
I heartily second James's recommendation on the travel card--it covers the major modes of transportation. Here, Budapest really stands out among world's cities.
Great idea! Since we will have 4 full days in Budapest, the travel card sounds like it will be perfect.
Make sure to go to the House of Terror, the Memorial Park, the Opera (very reasonably priced, although subtitles are in hungarian), the Central Market, the Castle hill, and the Baths. We enjoyed Marxim, a commie-themed pizza place at the north end of Castle hill. Kitzchy, but it was not commie-enough for me. Fun anyway, and pizza and beer were good.
Budapest is a great town. You'll enjoy it.
If you are interested in Marxim, you can find it on the internet, and I left a review in TripAdvisor.
