Barcelona Hotel/Apartment HELP!

Our family of 4 will be in Barcelona from May 16, checking out May 19. I had booked an apartment, and the owner just canceled the booking but is giving my deposit back (whew!). But now we do not have a place to stay. I looked online and could find no quad hotels, and most of the other hotels were already booked or very expensive (looking for something around 150 ~ or less per night. Anyone know of an apartment or have any suggestions? Thanks!

Check out vrbo #74574. You would have to contact them to check availability. It is a 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment. I stayed there last September and found it to be very comfortable. I paid 95€ per night for 2 people.

Good luck!

Thank you Andrea1 I sent a note but will see if you has openings. Can you tell me please what floor the apartment is on, and where it is located? VBRO does not seem to have maps associated with their listings~ Thanks!

It is fairly close to Sagrada Familia. The address to the rental office is 350 Independencia, if you want to look it up. The actual apartment was just around the corner. There is a metro stop only a few blocks away. It is on what we would call the second floor, and there is an elevator.

Pensio 2000 across from the Catalan Music Palace had families staying in it while we were there and would be in your price range.

You also might try the Friendly Rentals site or the reviews on Slow Travel website.

Look at Homelidays?.co.uk. I have used them 3 or 4 times and was satisfied. Just be careful with any rental and read all the details. Do not assume something is there that is not listed, like towels, lines, etc.

Did you hear back from the vrbo apartment I recommended? Someone made a good point about finding out what is included in the rental you are considering. I don't choose a place that charges extra for linens or cleaning. I also try to find a place that has at least a washer, if not a washer/dryer.

Thanks everyone! I did check the vbro, but it was already booked, Homelidays.co.uk and a couple of others. We ended up going with Tournights ~ formerly 1001Nights ~ a RS recommendation. We were able to book a nice looking apartment nearer the beach. We had previously booked near the Plaza Catalunya. Changed directions and will probably better please our college daughters. Guess trying to be flexible, see the world, and go with the punches~enjoy life! Thanks again everyone! Will let you know how it turns out.

Susan's trip was in May 2013. I doubt she needs apartment and hotel info anymore.

I've always had great luck finding rooms by calling hotels directly. This is especially true when you aren't travelling as a "standard" adult couple or by yourself.

I like to call places that are well recommended, tell them my need and let them offer what they think best. If their offer meets my needs, and the price is right, I book it. Sometimes that puts us in larger hotel rooms, sometimes multiple rooms and sometimes apartments.
