york england lodging
We are traveling to York England as a family of four and are having trouble finding a place to stay. We are only able to be there for one night, a Saturday. Any recommendations on lodging in York for one night? Would prefer to stay in the city center, but open to ideas.

We have enjoyed the Royal York Hotel. It is attached to the rail station and is an easy 5-10 min. walk to the heart of the city. It is not a typical "Rick Steve's" hotel, but very nice and a great location if you are using the trains. If you want a great supper, try Gert and Henery's. It is an old half-timber house near the edge of the Shambles and the market. Great food!
