Attaturk Airport and Turkish Air

I am considering flying from Dulles to Vienna on Turkish Air via Attaturk. But I am concerned about the quality of the airline and the reception I will get in the Attaturk Airport as an American. Has anyone had experience with either? Thank you.

Jim, this section is for trip reports, not questions. I suggest you post your question in the Transportation section. I think you will find more people will read it and hopefully can help you.

Turkish Air is an excellent line. Tons of American tourists enter Turkey through Ataturk Airport. I've never heard of anyone having a problem. We certainly didn't.

My husband and I flew Turkish Air in 2000 to Istanbul and found it very comfortable and the stewards attentive. The airport reception was fine. Turkey, and Istanbul in particuliar, is a modern progressive city; I would not expect any problems but my experience is 12 yrs ago.

Attaturk airport is a huge, modern facility with shops, restaurants and comfortable lounges. It's nicer than many airports in the US. And exactly what kind of reception are you expecting?

I've only flown with Turkish air once, but it was a like any airline. The breakfast was actually one of the best I've ever had on an airplane/
